Preserve individual observations

A stem-and-leaf display splits each value into a stem and a final digit or digits. State the key, sort leaves, retain repeated leaves and keep place values consistent. Unlike a grouped table, a well-defined stem plot preserves the observations. For decimal data, the key must specify scale: 2|4 might mean 2.4 rather than 24. A five-number summary is minimum, Q1, median, Q3 and maximum.
