Sort observations before finding a median. For odd n, take position (n+1)/2. For even n, average positions n/2 and n/2+1. The mode is the most frequent value and may be nonunique. In elementary usage, a dataset with no repeated values has no mode. The midrange is (minimum+maximum)/2; unlike the median, it depends directly on the extremes.
