Combinations and restrictions

Selecting an unordered r-subset from n distinct objects gives nCr=n!/[r!(n-r)!]. Multiply combinations for separate required categories. Use a complement for at least one when easier. Read whether order matters, whether repetition is allowed and whether positions are distinguishable before choosing a formula. Words such as choose and arrange are clues, but the actual experimental structure determines the answer.
