A Bernoulli variable is 1 for success and 0 for failure, with probability p of success. Its mean is p and variance p(1-p). A binomial count X sums n independent Bernoulli trials with the same p. Conditions: fixed n, two outcomes per trial, independence and constant success probability. Its support is 0,...,n. P(X=x)=C(n,x)p raised to the power of x x(1-p) raised to the power of n-x n-x; E(X)=np; Var(X)=np(1-p)
