Reconcile conventions before computing

The supplement includes both population and sample variance and uses different percentile positions in different examples. Choose the rule stated in the question, record it and retain it throughout. For grouped data use class boundaries, cumulative frequency before the class, frequency inside it and class width. For ungrouped data, use the actual ordered values. Do not copy a handwritten total without checking the row entries.
