Proportionate stratified allocation is nh=nNh/N. A systematic design uses an interval k=N/n with a random starting position. Standard error measures the sampling variability of a statistic; for independent observations, SD of the sample mean is σ/√n. It differs from the SD of individual observations. A sampling distribution is the distribution of a statistic over repeated samples under a specified design.
